When a Sandal and a Boot Fall In Love . . . You Get Spring's Most Daring Shoe

What do you get when you mix two of the biggest seasonal footwear staples? Answer: the sandal boot. It's a style that we saw a lot on Spring's runways, from Oscar de la Renta's laser-cut leather booties to the knee-high gladiator styles at Altuzarra and Proenza Schouler — and we have to admit that as risky as they are, we're loving this new shoe hybrid. Fusing the style and ease of a classic sandal with the height of a boot, the sexy silhouette is not for the faint of heart; it's the ultimate statement shoe and will undoubtedly garner tons of attention (not to mention a few double-takes). And then we came across this stunner yesterday afternoon, looking positively gorgeous while chilling (literally) in front of Milk Studios for MADE Fashion Week. Sometimes, life just isn't fair.

Our photographer was a little preoccupied with the razor-sharp sleet-of-doom, howling winds, and holy-crap-it's-cold temps, so he unfortunately didn't manage to catch her name. This unidentified frosty fox would look ah-mazing on any normal day, but she gets super-duper extra credit for managing to look this fly in the middle of a storm that made every meteorologist in the Tri-State area curl up into a little ball on the floor and quietly weep in fear.

That hair. Those lips. That traffic-stopping smile! She's just about the only person we saw yesterday who didn't look majorly pissed-off at the world and the unfortunate turn of the weather. It takes a supremely cool chick to look Mother Nature in the eye like that and just laugh at the absurdity of the situation. So, well played, curly-coiffed goddess, well played. And if you happen to see this, do drop us a line and let us know what that lipstick shade is — we're dying to know...
